WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

DOCTORS OF CHIROPRACTIC DIAGNOSE, TREAT AND HELP PREVENT CONDITIONS AND DISORDERS RELATED TO THE BACK, NECK, PELVIS, EXTREMITY JOINTS AND THE EFFECT THEY HAVE ON THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.
The main form of treatment chiropractors deliver is called an adjustment – a non-invasive procedure consisting of a precise directed movement to help relieve pain and discomfort, and restore range of motion. Sometimes chiropractors will also use other therapies like massage, heat, laser and ultrasound.

A chiropractor does not prescribe drugs or perform surgery, but may make a referral to medical specialists for such treatment when appropriate.

In addition to adjustments, chiropractors also counsel patients regarding nutrition, lifestyle and exercise.

ABOUT US

Welcome to Core Chiropractic Center. We promise to do our very best to make your experience with us as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
We aim to go above and beyond your expectations to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.  Many people come to us with many different kinds of debilitating, painful conditions and we are happy to help get them some relief.   Relief care however, is not health care; a more correct term would be sickness care.  Health care, on the other hand, is what most people desire and that is what we suggest to all of our patients once we have gotten them beyond the pain.  Health care is comprised of proper diet and nutrition, adequate exercise and appropriate lifestyle choices. Just like regular dental care helps prevent cavities and tooth decay, regular Chiropractic care helps prevent nerve impingement, spinal decay and skeletal degeneration.  Whether you come to us for relief care or health care, the choice is yours. We are here to serve your health and wellness needs in whatever capacity you choose.  Take a step towards better health. and come visit us today!

WHAT IS REGULATION?

BEING REGULATED MEANS THAT CHIROPRACTORS IN ALBERTA MUST OBEY ALL LEGISLATIVE REQUIREMENTS SET BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR ALL HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS.

Other health care providers that are regulated include nurses, dentists, medical doctors and optometrists.

In Alberta, the Health Professions Act ensures all regulated health care providers:
  • are educated and trained properly
  • practice within a defined scope of practice
  • adhere to strict standards of practice
  • hold liability protection/coverage
  • meet competency standards
  • are accountable to a regulatory organization
The Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors (ACAC) is entrusted with enforcing the requirements set by government for all chiropractors. To be a chiropractor in Alberta, you must be a member, in good standing, with the ACAC.

SAFETY AND RESEARCH

MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF RESEARCH ABOUT THE SAFETY AND EFFICACY OF CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT PROVE THAT CHIROPRACTIC IS EFFECTIVE AND BENEFICIAL TO PATIENTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF BACK AND NECK RELATED CONDITIONS.
Because chiropractic is non-invasive, the risk of a serious adverse effect is extremely low. While most people feel a sense of relief, it is possible that following a chiropractic treatment you may experience mild soreness that should go away quickly.

Before you have a chiropractic treatment, ask to discuss any concerns you have with your chiropractor. If you have any lasting effects or concerns, talk to your chiropractor.
Chiropractic is a health discipline firmly grounded in science and endorsed by research. Researchers, both within and outside the chiropractic profession, are actively involved in studying the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic treatment.

The growing body of evidence continues to prove the value of chiropractic with consistently high marks for clinical effectiveness, cost efficiency and patient satisfaction.
